Designing
your own mould and making your own spoiler kit.
Contrary to initial impressions,
this is not a GTR spoiler, in fact it's not even a replica! This is a custom
made one piece front bumper designed for an R32 GTS series. These (as far
as we know) are not made anywhere else, so we thought we'd make our own.
It features some characteristics similar to a factory design however the
factory units are two piece, are made of a completely different material,
and do not fit the R32 GTS easily. That is why we are going to make our
own homemade original kit.

Bumper
with a coat of tooling gel (red stuff) and tissue .
|
Here
is the mould sanded after the application of the tissue, the
sanding is to get a good fusion of the chemicals but most
importantly to get rid of any rough bits that might cause
air bubbles.

Before
the first layer of glass is to be applyed any tricky spots
have to be "bogged" this is ok because bog is atchuly polyester
resin with fillers so theyfuse togther just like welding -sort
of. anyway the bog helps when you have got tight /shape spots
as fibreglass dosnt go around edges very well.
|
The
first layer of frp getting rolled to get out any air -this
is critical for the longevity of the mould good on ya Pou-nice
work

"Rob"
here is using the "chopper gun" to spray the mould with resin
solution /catilist and the fibreglass strands it self a good
gun operator such as rob here can save a lot of time on the
job. it really is quite an art to get an even thickness over
the whole job.
|
"Pou"
here , is rolling out the chopped strand that the gun just
spat out with resin ,do you like my fluffy bumper??
